Medisorb H - application way

On securing the wound choose the size of the secondary dressing that will cover the entire wound with a 2-3 cm margin.

  1. Before applying the dressing put on gloves and wash the wound with a 0.9% saline solution or a Ringer’s solution and dry the skin surrounding the wound.
  2. Select the appropriate size dressing Medisorb H so that it covers the wound surface and 2-3 cm of the skin around it. If necessary, on large surface wounds several overlapping dressings can be applied.
  1. Before peeling off the protective paper warm the dressing in hands.
  1. Remove the wider protective paper. Put Medisorb H directly onto the wound surface and gently press the edges of the dressing.

  1. Remove the narrower protective paper and press the edges of the dressing to the skin.
5medisorbh NOTES:

  1. In case of medical recommendation leg ulcers can be treated using the Medisorb H dressing in combination with a compression therapy.
  2. Under the dressing there may arise yellowish gel with a characteristic odour. This is not an infection, but a normal phenomenon associated with the use of hydrocolloid dressings.
  3. The dressing should be replaced when the surface turns into a hydrocolloid gel. The frequency of dressing change depends on the amount of discharge. In case of heavily exuding wounds daily dressing changes may be required. In case of medium exuding wounds or epithelising wounds the dressing can remain on the wound for up to 7 days.
