Medisorb G - application way

On securing places with dry necrotic tissue prepare Medisorb G and a secondary dressing e.g. Medisorb F. Select the size of the secondary dressing that will cover the entire wound.

  1. Before applying the dressing put on gloves and wash the wound with a 0.9% saline solution and dry the surrounding skin.
  2. Take out the tube from the packaging and remove the cap a handkerchief to wipe the tip with a swab.
  3. While maintaining the purity of the tip gently squeeze out the gel on the wound surface.
  1. The gel should protrude above the dead cells at a minimum height of 5 mm.
  2. Then cover the wound secondary e.g. Medisorb F which is transparent and allows observation of the wound.
3medisorbg When choosing Medisorb F:

  1. Remove the protective (white) paper from the central lower part of the dressing and holding by the paper edges apply the dressing on the skin.
  2. Remove the protective (white) papers from the edges and stick the rest of the dressing. Lightly press the edges of the dressing.

  1. Remove the top plastic cover by pulling the tab in the direction shown by the green arrows.
5medisorbg NOTES:

  1. One dressing Medisorb G is designed for single use for one person the unused portion should be thrown away.
  2. In the case of necrotic wounds Medisorb G should be changed every 24 hours. In case of pure wounds the gel may be left a maximum of three days. The dressing should be changed immediately if any leakage of gel outside the secondary dressing appears.
  3. To remove the gel from the wound wash it with a 0.9% saline solution.
